Achensee lake is 10 km long, 1 km wide and occupies an area of 719 hectares.
Well maintained sunbathing lawn with playground and sanitary facilities. Free entry. Parking fee charged.
The lake also serves as a water reservoir for the Jenbach hydroelectric power plant. However, it is not a real reservoir lake but a natural lake emerged from glaciers! Contrary to most other lakes, bathing at Achensee is free of charge!
