THE HOTEL SEEVILLA****
a hotel that is unique among it`s kind
The Silence-Hotel on the shore of the "Altausseer Sees" (Lake Altaussee), located in the five star landscape of the Styrian part of the Salzkammergut area. Added to the idyllic setting, a sparkling mountain stream flows into the lake, embracing one side of the property. The hotel has a whimsical look - sort of a cross between a large Austrian chalet and a Victorian mansion.
A room with a view
Beautifully furnished rooms - 23 of which were renovated in December 2000 - with fascinating views of the mountains and Lake Altaussee await you. New: our "Literature rooms" with books, information and documentation on "Barbara Frischmuth", "Friedrich Torberg" and "Jakob Wassermann".
"Winter fairytales around the Seevilla"
Mother Winter is at home in the Aussee region! The wonderful natural landscape - a winter wonderland for everyone who loves comfort and tradition. Attractions include skiing on the Loser, cross-country-skiing, tobogganing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, curling, snowshoe and winter hiking, and much more. The frozen lake is a particular delight.
The "Brahms Café"
Johannes Brahms developed an affection for the Seevilla in the last century. He was a frequent visitor to Altaussee, and was a guest in the home of arts-sponsor Wagner. In 1882 he crowned his visits with the premiere of his spring quartet in F, opus 88, and the piano trio in C, opus 87. The café bears his name - culture and coffee house under the same roof!

Right on the VIA ARTIS - art in the Aussee region
A walk takes you around Fischerndorf, along the lakeside and the foot of the Loser, past the houses and holiday homes of the artists. There are five stations. The walk starts and ends at the hotel. There is also a museum of literature at the entrance to the salt mine.
Aussee´s folk costume
isn´t actually a costume as such; it´s a state of mind that is a visual and spiritual connection between locals and enthusiastic regulars. The Aussee region is quite rightly known as the "Trachteninsel" - the island of the folk costume. The styles, worn with equal pleasure by young and old, are as varied and as delightful as the region.
The Loser skiing region
has some of the best snow conditions in Austria. Skiing fun at 1000 metres above sea level, deep snow above the tree line, a unique south-facing position with wonderful mountain views. And there are some delightful cross-country tracks to the Blaa Alm and into the resort of Altaussee.
Conferences and courses in the Seevilla
We have a pleasant, airy conference room that accommodates about 30 participants; special full-board arrangements, your own fringe programme, modern facilities - and it´s open 365 days a year!
